Many San Franciscans mock the preppy singles scene in the Marina, which is usually overflowing with conservatively coiffed beautiful people on the weekends. Still, the neighborhood offers some great dining options which are easily accessed by foot on Chestnut and Union Streets. Frisbee-throwers, joggers and sun worshippers flock to the Marina Green, while those seeking a little bit of the city's cultural offerings head to Fort Mason, an enclave of museums, non-profits and festival facilities.
