Before the sun goes down you must hike down to the ruins and get a closer look. There's even a cave! I was a bit skeptical about the dark ominous cave at first, but once I saw a 5 year old child walk out of it not crying in fear I figured it was safe for me! Really kool spot! There are old train tracks at the end that I wish were not broken to bits. I SOOOO want to take a ride on the Sutro train along the shore! While you're waiting for a seat at Louis enjoy the baths and all it's destroyed beauty!
Mysterious Sutro Baths.
The Sutro Baths is one of my favorite places to visit and take out-of-towners.
Whether you know the unusual history of the turn of the century pool park and it's creator or not, it remains an intriguing and beautiful site. Overlooking the crashing waves of the Pacific and adjacent to some of the best hiking trails in the city, it is worth the trip.
If you want to see something magnificent, go in the evening on the night of a full moon and witness the shear raw power of Mother Ocean as she blasts the jagged rocks below with monsterous waves.
For more information on the Sutro Baths check your local bookstore, you won't believe what it used to look like!
