Editorial Review for Cigar Bar and Grill – by Daniel Liszt
In Short
Patrons pay a cover (around $5) to hang out and listen to live Latin musicians. In addition to a bar area serving cocktails, sangria and bites like baby back ribs, this is also one of the few places in the city where smoking is legal--there's even a humidor stocked with cigars for sale. A European-style patio with decorative fountains offers a place to light up or catch fresh air, while several pool tables inside offer further diversions.

In preface, I point out that while this is an okay bar with a decent beverage list, it is ADVERTISED as a cigar bar, and therefore I review it on that basis. First, beware, there is NO humidor and you will have no more than 7 - 10 cigars to choose from. Most of them are unremarkable and overpriced. I smoked an Aurora 1495 Series for $23 (worth $8). The humidor is a glass candy case at the front of the bar... and dont light the cigar inside, they owner was too lazy to get an cigar club smoking permit. So, you smoke outside on the heated patio. Too bad the heated patio is loaded with kids who smoke cigarettes and NOT cigars, so you will not get a seat and will instead sit in the cold with your stogie for an hour. Given, the music inside is fun, the scotch selection is good and the bartenders are nice enough, that does not make up for the fact that I paid $5 cover for a cigar bar that is really a bar with room for people to smoke cigars outside. Words to the owner: I suggest you change your bar name to something less misleading.

Took a gal there on a date with the intention to get to know her. My buddy recommended this place because of the easy going vibe & the "coolness" without being cheesy or hipster factor. He also recommended the drink list, which I couldn't agree with him more on this. The bartenders were attentive, interested in us on more than a customer level & made some damn good mojitos. I have been back since then with others & they have all had a good time. My suggestion would be to go on a thursday night & have fun!
Pros: Mojitos, Bartenders & Thursday nights
Cons: Packed on weekends
