Boycott Specialty's. I had the WORST experience at this establishment. There was a customer ahead of me in line that didn't like his soup's temperature, so a manager came over and did something to adjust but apparently the man was still unsatisfied so he walked over to the girl calling out the sandwiches and threw it on her, looked at her like she was garbage and walked out. Now this is the part that amazed me is that though they had a full staff, a male manager, NO ONE did anything to help this girl. They did not call the police or take any witness reports, nothing. I am personally banning this company and hope you will do the same. There is no reason to let a company treat their employees like that and on further researc found out they give no benefits, holiday pay and are unbelievably unhealthy. They are a nutritional nightmare with most of their sandwiches weighing in at an average of 900 calories for a sub par snack, I call it that due to the fact it comes with no sides. And speaking of sides, forget that cookie it averages 500 calories!

Don't go here unless you have a lot of time and patience to spend!. I give it 2 stars because the cookies are amazing, but the staff is ditzy as heck and sometimes the wait can be sooooooo long you feel like Rip Van Winkle when you finally get your order, while the whole time you waited, half the staff was shooting the breeze rather than filling customer orders. Also, they don't seem to get it when you ask them to leave something out of an order, even though they confirmed when the order was placed that the ingredient could be left out. Case in point: this morning I ordered a breakfast sandwich with NO BELL PEPPERS. I get the order and go all the way back to my office 2 blocks away, 25 floors up, and guess what? Yep, they put in bell peppers! So I go all the way back to get a new sandwich w/o bell peppers and they do it again! You see what I mean? Jeebus. I cannot go back here, no matter how good the cookies are. They just don't care enough to get it right the first time, or the second time, or the ...

Offering made-from-scratch breakfast and lunch, this gourmet soup and sandwich spot caters to the businessman on the move.. In Short
Before work, the sleek space is filled with suits vying for freshly-baked breakfast croissants, baked goods and coffee; at lunchtime, they're lining up for sandwiches, salads and soups. More than 30 sandwich options include versions made with in-store roasted chicken, turkey and pork, along with unique fillings like Santa Fe chicken salad and Thai chicken. Generous salads can be chosen from the menu or custom-built from a long list of add-ins.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Went to the one on Sansome and Clay. It was very busy during lunch, and they only accept cash. The cashier and the lady who calls out your name once your orders are ready were EXTREMELY RUDE. Chill out and smile a little ladies. I will not return to this location. My friends both ordered the spinach salad and both ended up tossing it after the first few bites. I'd only go to another specialtys for the cookies...otherwise, no thanks! Too many other/better choices to eat around the financial district.

Addictive cookies. I'd definitely pass on Specialty's for lunch - while the bread is amazing, the meat and cheese are just average. The reason to go to Specialty's is for the cookies. They are to die for! I'd suggest ordering whatever is fresh out of the oven as it's hard to go wrong here. My favorite is the peanut butter chocolate chip; when they're warm they have to serve them on a plate because they're so gooey.
