Not customer friendly.. The two stars are all for the desserts. It is not a place to go and be creative. If it's a dessert don't eat it. Employees are not about "service with a smile." I tried to return a sandwitch and it turned into a debate over what was considered to be a good sandwitch. I didn't get my money back and was forced to call back when the manager came in. You have to pay to use the internet at this place. This place is conceeded. They rely on the reputation of their desserts to keep customers. I wouldn't go here if you are looking to relax and have a hassle free time. And bring cash.

AMAZING!. Tart to Tart is the cutest dessert shop and great for grabbing a bite with friends. They have a huge assortment of pastries and everything I've tried is delicious (especially the cookies and fruit tarts). There are also food options, ice cream, and a variety of drinks (I love their hot chocolate). They don't rush you out so you can relax as long as you want, and the outdoor seating is prime for people-watching. Also, unlike most coffee and dessert places, they are open really late! This place is quite a find.

Love the strawberry bars. We've been patronizing this bakery for what seems like 30 yrs now. Their fruit tarts used to be made with puff pastry which was divine, but the current crunchy tart shell is pretty good. For smaller portions, their strawberry bars with strawberries and whipped cream between puff pastry is great, so are the chocolate eclairs. Their cakes are huge and well over $30, lots of chocolate choices. The Irving St and Montgomery St branches have the same owner but the one one Geary Street are different owners. The Irving St store has been closed for several months now for remodeling. Can't wait for it to reopen.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Dessert shop with several city locations bakes fresh cakes and pastries on premises; soups and sandwiches are also available.

Yummy pastries, sandwiches, salads, and ice cream concoctions!. This is where I come to buy cakes and tarts for all occasions because their pastries are so good (they also sell by the piece if you don't want a whole cake). They also make sandwiches and tasty salads. AND ice cream dishes. There are a few small tables outside to watch the street parade from (and so your dog/cat/rabbit won't get lonely) and there's internet connections inside; they also let you sit as long as you want so it's a nice place to read or write over coffee. I have seldom seen it empty, and at usual meal times it is usually crowded since the local school kids go there (I don't think the school provides lunch areas for the students so they tend to invade all the neighborhood spaces). Prices are fair, no parking of course but the Muni Metro stops right in front (buses are only a block away). It is understaffed for peak hours but otherwise the staff is usually patient and friendly.
