The Scene
Sausalito is perhaps one of the most romantic towns in America, and this inn takes full advantage of its setting. The property combines the deluxe amenities of a boutique hotel with the warmth and hospitality of a bed-and-breakfast. The superb on-site restaurant, Poggio, serves up excellent food and some of the best views in Marin County.

The Details
Room decor ranges from romantic Victorian in the main house to a mix of contemporary styles in the newer rooms and suites that cascade down the hillside. Some of the 64 rooms are a bit small. But most feature gorgeous views of Sausalito harbor, San Francisco Bay and the skyline. The on-premises Avanyu spa uses water therapies and sea products to rejuvenate and heal. The beaches and hiking trails of Angel Island State Park are also just a ferry ride away.

Location, ambience, and service!!!

Wow. I recently spent a weekend in Sausalito with my girlfriend, and Casa Madrona was one of the high points of our trip. The big, imposing building may look a little out of place on Sausalito's charming Bridgeway, ubt it hides a relaxing atmosphere, a high-quality restaurant, wonderful rooms, and above all, a very personable and helpful staff. For a smile and a tired sigh, we were upgraded from a normal room to a suite with a spa/bathtub and fireplace. abravo!

Pros: service, location, restaurant

Cons: no real lounge

This was the best experience I have ever had at a spa! The employees were so great, the services were awesome, and the spa itself was perfect! I would have stayed forever if I could have! I can't wait to go back!
