Best Hamburger in Sausalito. Why is there a line outside of this nondescript doorway? What is this generic looking green awning with just the word "HAMBURGER" on it? I walk over to look in the window. There is a rotating grill with a bunch of burgers on it. Is this some cheesy gimmick? Well, there is a line. Those are some thick juicy looking burgers on that cheesy looking rotating grill. What the heck, let's give it a try.

Just do it. You won't regret it. No frills just a good burger. The meat, bun, lettuce, tomato, and onion are fresh because of the high turnover at this liitle hole in the wall. Take your burger and fries and walk across the street to the park by the water. The spectacular view (for free) and an excellent juicy burger (reasonable considering you are in a tourist area) make for a great experience.

I have been back several times and have always had a very good burger.

Please do NOT feed the birds. It just makes them more aggressive and would ruin it for everyone.

Noble Knight On Burger Quest - The Begining. Today is the day - after waiting almost a decade for an opportunity to return to Sausalito, I am finally going to try this place out. Last time I was in Sausalito, I ate at a hoity-toity place that served disappointing seafood. I only stumbled on "Hamburger" while trying to walk off the hoity-toity place's culinary abortion. The burgers are viewed in their flame grilled beauty from the street - the place has a window from which you can view the burgers on a rotating grill. I longed for a second stomach so I could shake off the previous bad meal and eat what appeared to be a wonderful burger.

Like most American dorks with pedestrian names like Joe, Hank or Fred, yours truly has quested for the perfect burger since childhood. There have been many near greats, but how can you go wrong at a place that calls itself "Hamburgers" and displays its namesake on a rotating grill for all to admire? It's like the owner has a limited capacity for creative thought - and one day grunted out the most original thought of his life: "Me name workplace, 'Hamburgers.'" Solid thinking - what you see is what you get. One downside on his thought process: he should have named it "Best Hamburgers." Throw in a little marketing.

I quest for it today at noon. . . .this better be amazing. If there's an earthquake today, it's because the place sucked. Hell hath no fury like a burger quester scorned. That sounds a little too dramatic - fine, if it suxs, then I'll throw a tantrum - and I'll kick it old skool like I did when I was 4 years old. This better not be bad.............(to be continued)

The Name Says it All!. My search for the perfect burger brought me to this little joint in Sausalito. Stopped in early at about 11:15am and took about 10min to get our order. Standard burgers, sausage, chicken breast menu, only about 15 items available and 3 rickety little tables. The sirloin burgers are char-broiled on toasted sesame buns with fixins for about $5+, fries for $2+ The meat is VERY good and tender, surprising for sirloin and a hefty 1/3 lb. Fries were decent crinkle-cut but nothing special. This may be the BEST burger I've had after trying Barney's, Mo's and Joe's Cable Car but get there quick, the line was long before noon time!
