Where crashing waves and ominous skies exude a mystical aura.. In Short
This bleak, but beautiful, beach is a moody spot plagued with rough surf, wild winds and towering waves that form seemingly out of nowhere. Cursed with a dense great white shark population, the area is unsuitable for swimming, but it's a popular spot for thinkers to sit and absorb the priceless scenery.

Excellent Beach. This is a beautiful serene beach that is fun for the kids and beautiful and peaceful for the adults.

Cowgirl Creamery, Pt. Reyes Beach. The drive through Marin to Pt. Reyes Station and on out to Pt. Reyes beach makes this day trip enjoyable in itself. If you're going to the beach, stop in at the Cowgirl Creamery for a sandwich, a bottle of wine, and some cheese to nibble on. And, if you make it a whole day trip - stop back into Pt. Reyes Station in the evening and have dinner at the Pinecone (across the street from Cowgirls) - fabulous organic food!

stay away from lunar freeze. Extremely cold, very high speed winds and fog city almost all year round. Even when the weather's great elsewhere, Pt Reyes delivers some pleasing vistas but it's lack of creature comforts is downright depressing. Speak about sand in the eyes! It's good poster material and that's it.
