A glorious peninsula highlighted by secluded beaches, ancient forests and dramatic views--all within an hour's drive of San Francisco..
In Short
In the park's brief life, it's become one of the most popular destinations along the Golden State's famous shoreline, attracting more than two million visitors a year. By far the top attraction in the park is the Point Reyes Lighthouse. Situated on the rocky tip of the peninsula, the lighthouse is one of California's best whale-watching locales, especially during the gray whale migration from December to May.
