A Unique Experience!
by Mersimpson
Experienced, well-trained teachers, combined with a community of highly involved, loving parents have made for an excellent start to my daughter's preschool years. Her participation in the Toddler Time program (for children 18 mos. - 2 1/2 yrs.) not only helped her transition effortlessly into the regular preschool program this Fall, but helped strengthen her social skills, as she made friends who later went on to be in her preschool class.
What truly makes NPNS unique however, is the school's dedication to helping teach parents how to guide their own children in gaining a sense of empowerment, self-esteem and independence through its practice of the Positive Discipline philosophy. This practical yet, loving approach has proved to be an invaluable teaching tool, as both a school volunteer and parent.
Last but not least, I can't give enough positive praise for our school's teachers. All 3 teachers currently hold California teaching credentials, and are parents of young children themselves. Needless to say...they get it! I've always found them more than willing to share a laugh, hug, or suggestion, and by being an active volunteer in my child's preschool program, I've probably learned as much from them, if not more than my preschooler! As a former elementary school teacher myself, I whole-heartedly recommend you check this preschool out!"
- Pros: Teachers, involved parent community, emphasis on parent education, social and academic preparation for kindergarten
- Cons: 2 mandatory maintenance days per year, usually on scheduled on Saturdays, which was challenging to work into our family schedule
So much more than just a great preschool

I absolutely love my son's preschool. The teachers are all great and you can see and feel how much they care for and connect with each child. All of the parents take turns actively participating in the classroom on their workday and it truly becomes a community raising and educating each other's kids in a loving environment. The parents connect with each other as peers and as friends and provide that much more support to participating families because of the co-op environment. This is far more than just a great preschool for your child; it's a wonderful community and I am lucky to be a part of it.
- Pros: great teachers, parent involvement, community support, affordable
- Cons: requires fundraising participation from all families, but what school doesn't?
