Oh no! What Happened here???.
This used to be a gem in Mil Valley. Funky, great food, easy, delicious, reasonable and family friendly. Under new ownership, the chips are from bags form Costco (I saw them bring in a new bag) the menu is the same but the food is NOT. the chipotle sauce used to be delicious and served on the side. Now it is sticky sweet, overpowering and mixed into the food. The service was AWFUL! No offers for refills of water, didn't bother to ask if I wanted another beverage. When we left the new owner was sitting with her back to us, hunched over the bar, watching television. This breaks my heart.I used to love this place, for many years, and these new people have RUINED it. Such a shame.

LOVE this place.
I recently dined at the Cactus Cafe in Mill Valley, which was bought by a new owner in 2006. Service was outstanding and the food was better than ever. The place looks great and is very kid friendly. They added Beer Taps and have a decent wine selection. The owners are the staff, so you feel really catered to.
I suggest the House Salad with Red Snapper and my husband fell in love with the Enchiladas Tropical, which is a green chile sauce with Mango.

Not What it Used to Be.
Although it used to be one of our favorites, my family has had several bad experiences at Cactus Cafe since in went under new ownership in late 2006. We kept hoping it would get better again, but we finally gave up a few months ago after we found meat in our vegetarian food on 2 separate occasions. We also found the quality of the food to be inconsistent, especially on weekends. It is also significantly more expensive than it used to be under Michael's ownership. Such a bummer since it is very kid-friendly and rarely crowded. (Updated 10/27/2008)
