Beware of the Magnolia Ave Salon!

I am the husband of a former client of this Salon. My wife used to have shiny, lustrous hair that cascaded down her shoulders. I loved running my fingers through her beautiful hair. Mai Quan was her stylist for a few years and convinced my wife to get some highlights. Her hair is now orange and burnt to a crisp. The chemicals that Mai put in her hair dripped down her forehead into her eyebrows and down the side of her face, leaving marks on her skin. Later, her eyebrows and eyelashes fell out. So far, it has cost us hundreds of dollars in dermatologist bills, skin creams and expensive shampoos/hair treatments. When my wife tried to talk to the owner, Karen Davis, she offered her some har treatments, but reneged. When my wife tried to call her, Karen refused to listen to her, and then refused to take her calls. Karen called the police and said my wife was harassing her, when all she was doing was trying to contact her by phone to do the honorable thing. We tried to involve Mai and Karen in mediation so that the damage done at the Salon could be repaired. They refused to participate. We went to small claims court to get them to pay for the repair to my wife's hair. They lied in court, and accused my wife of pouring 20 volume peroxide over her own hair. The outcome is still pending. Our warning to all people wanting hair coloring: If you like your hair, don't go there.

Russ Bard Best Hair Cut and Color in Marin

I have been going to Russ for over 15 years. I went from having old fashioned hair cuts to modern cuts. The color always looks natural. He always listens to what you want and will let you know if that will work. I never feel rushed when I am there. You never leave until every hair is in place. Thanks for always making my hair look so wonderful

Fabulous Hair!

It is not easy to style my graying, longish, curly hair - but Amanda made it fabulous! She listened carefully to the look I wanted - professional but feminine - and patiently crafted it - cut, color, not to forget tinting and shaping eyebrows. What was dfistinctive about the experience was not only the great results - (I keep getting compliments) but the attentiveness and care she showed made the whole experience in this gorgeous salon one I am eager to repeat. (Also they use and sell my favorite hair stuff, Kerastase!)
