so basically i have been going to fat kat for 13 years ever since moving to marin from orange county and have never had a negative experience. i read the review about the guy that called and then they didnt have what he was looking for and asked the employee and it turns out he was asking for a "tailguard". first of all what the hell is that? like a nose guard but for your tail? never even seen one before. this is not 80s retro skateboarding buddy. and second, the employee made it clear that we had stomp pads if thats what he was looking for and he came in to look and it wasnt what he wanted cuz the thing he was looking for is completely make believe in his mind. tho a small shop, it def rivals of proof lab, stinson, or 2 mile... and the skate aspect brought by the new owners adds a good vibe. i have never given business to any marin county shop except for fat kat. other shops think they are hot stuff and better than everyone else when in reality i have seen lots of the kids in the water or skating and lets just say they could use some experience. i do give props to the owners tho who know a thing or two about surfing. however, make a trip to fat kat and youll be thoroughly satisfied as its the best shop in marin county hand down.

Rick still does all the ding repair, which is good cause he is the best. I think he has been doing it for 20 years...Always pro, and better priced than others. Retail portion of the shop is way better now that Rick sold the shop to Whitney, a native of Stinson/bolinas, and cool chick that boosted the inventory 1000% Check it out, nice selection of boards, usually a bunch of beaters and used boards for cheap. Sometimes you can find a score!@
Pros: hot girls working and hanging out, all the gear you need
Cons: out of the way
