BAD BAR SERVICE ALL AROUND!!!!!.
Dont know about the food, heard its not great (latin cooks) no Italian chefs...
The bar area is ruder than rude, they closed the lights on us right after we ordered a round of drinks for our entire table. We had to chug our drinks and run out before they locked us in - VERY BAD MANNERS. Another lousy restaurant in Marin County.
Three point seven stars. I have to take isue with Citysearch's math: seven ratings, 26 stars = 3.71 but Servino is listed at 4.5 stars. Regardless, I agree with the previous reviewer- the upstairs deck is great, and I've been up there six or eight times in that many years and my friends and I have basically had the place all to ourselves. The fried calamari IS good, and I seem to remember a couple of nice pizzas and salads, but the wine list was not memorable though heavy on moderatelypriced selections. I really like the upstairs but on eof the great things about going out is the people watching and there's not much to be had on the otherwise great deck. I went one night for jazz downstair and there were a lot of very drunk babyboomers who all seemed to know each other.
Great Bar in Tiburon! Great Views.. Servino's is a great after work bar. I love going on a nice sunny day and sitting on the deck watching boats cruise by. They have a notable wine list and prices are reasonable. Nice friendly staff and good food. When I have out of town guests, Servino is a must stop in to show off the beautiful city!
Editorial Review. Southern Italian style restaurant has a full-bar, live-music, special events and a scenic waterfront view.
Great to find a place outside the City that is Trendy and edgy!. I love Servino. I have been going for many years. The food is consistently good and the service is great. The bruschetta rocks, so does the fried calamari. The Penne al Ragu is another favorite, all the pizzas are good. They have a great wine list and full bar (good for happy hour). During the summer the outdoor drinking/dining option is great... eating, drinking watching boats and people all around. I love it.
Ugh on all counts. Had dinner here for the first time with a small group and every aspect of the dinner and overall experience was ... Ugh. The service was incredibly slow, they forgot one of our appetizers, the waiter had a hard time understanding our orders, we had a hard time understanding our waiter, and the food was on par with Stouffer's frozen meals (and last I checked, Stouffer's is cheaper). We were informed that the "insalata mista" was unavailable due to the spinach scare, and yet the antipasta dish we had ordered came with a huge pile of mixed greens (basically, an insalata mista). Our empty plates were not cleared in a timely manner, and when our wine glasses were "cleared," they just moved them all to the end of our table and left them there. When the waiter brought one of the desserts out, he held onto it and kept saying, "the dessert is not well" while offering to bring something else. We were all confused as to what he was talking about and finally, he set the dessert down on the table. Apparently the dessert tasted allright, but the person eating it was very hesitant to even try it. I will never go back there.
The best pizza in Tiburon!. Pretty good restaurant for Tiburon! Typical Tiburon prices-- again showing how much the restaurants and stores think of themselves in this area -- over priced. The pizza was very good, actually better than the pizza place right next door! Expensive, but definitely the best pizza in Tiburon. I've tried several of their pastas, chicken dishes and salads and found everything to be very good. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for Italian food in Tiburon.
There are better restaurants in the Bay Area. I went to Servino two weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon. With so many restaurants in the Bay Area to choose from, I wouldnt come back here again. The food was mediocre. I couldve made better pasta back home. The service was slow. When our food arrived it wasnt even hot. The table across from us, a party of seven, received their food before us even though we ordered fifteen minutes earlier. The only thing this restaurant has going for them is the view, but you have to show up early if you stand any chance of getting an outside table. I suppose this restaurant would have an appeal if you were looking for a place to hold business meeting or a private party, but otherwise I would recommend going somewhere else.
Pretty tasty....
Took visiting parents to Servino last weekend - none of us had pasta so maybe we missed out. The food wasn't terrible but it wasn't stellar either. Seemed like it was missing a little something - honestly think the chicken/steak dishes were comporable to say Pasta Pomodoro.
The service was great and I loved the daVinci sketches on the way to the dining area.
Wonderful pasta. The way dining should be: we were seated promptly, the server was attentive, the view was good, and the pasta sublime. The dining room is a tad crowded, but not uncomfortable. Definitely go for the pasta (all handmade according to the menu) -- it's truly wonderful!
