best tandoori chicken. I have only been here for the lunch buffet, which I highly recommend. Like any buffet restaurant, they have their strengths and weaknesses. This buffet has many strengths. They have the best tandoori chicken - fresh and spicy (more so than most, which is why I think it's the best). They usually have some unique Indian vegetable dishes that are not so common in other Indian lunch buffets, but are quite well prepared. Chai comes with the buffet, no extra charge -- which is a nice touch. Also the desserts with the buffet stand out: an amazing mango pudding-like dessert and a kheer (rice pudding) that always has the fragrance/taste of freshing ground cardamom.
Worst Indian experience ever.. I am curious as to whether the "super nice" owners cited above are aware of the rudeness of their servers. Where to begin? I had dinner and not lunch. It took forever for the server to bring a menu. I guess the other three people in the place were occupying their time. When we got a menu, it only took a minute for them to come back and ask us if we were ready to order. We were not even asked if we wanted drinks. THe food was brought out and was not spicy at all. I prefer Indian food to be spicy and would have appreciated the choice. It was okay but not great. I have had much better Indian food in several other places. On top of that, they did not include rice with the sauce dishes. When we asked about it, the server informed us that rice was seperate. I have never eaten at an Indian restaurant that did not include rice with sauce dishes. What kind of pervert eats these dishes without rice? I am also unsure why they were notably rude to my Chinese friend who was being more than amiable. Our check was messed up. Since I was the only person who ordered a drink that was not water, I guess it is easy to put my massive 22 ounce Taj Mahal on somebody else's check. When we politely told the server about this mistake, she muttered something under her breath. This was the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to. If the owners ensured that new customers are treated somewhat decently, maybe they could draw more guests ino their place.
Great choice for Indian. The lunch buffet is the best. Great price and great food. Selection is sometimes not so great since it's a small buffet, but the food is always excellent. It does get a little busy at lunch time, so the service is a little slow at this time. The owners are super nice too and lunch comes with great FREE garlic naan.
