Editorial Review for The Arena in Oakland – by Lily Fu
In Short
With a capacity of more than 19,000, this cavernous, glass-paned venue hosts the Golden State Warriors as well as a number of big-name concerts and entertainment shows. Five concourses, television monitors throughout the building and multiple seating levels allow for clear sight lines. Two levels feature luxury suites with a wet bar, private catering and 12 theater-style seats so fans won't miss any of the action.

The New Arena is definitely bigger, but I don't think it's better. The old giant concourses are long gone and have been replaced by claustrophobic hallways. Parking is easy, except on days when the A's or Raiders are playing. BART is always an option. My top concerts here were Madonna, John Mellencamp and the oldies gig by Frank, Sammy and Dean.
Pros: Big-name shows
Cons: Claustrophobic
