Editorial Review for George and Walt's – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
The large drinking hall is decorated with a series of baseball pennants and filled with video games, pinball and two pool tables. A red-and-black linoleum floor gives way to the curved bar, and several TVs hang throughout--with an especially large screen in the back room, which has a Reno sports-book feel. Rabid Raiders fans come during football season; other times, Cal students and local neighborhood folks wait their turn for a pool table.

Great place to meet up with your friends...the bartenders are awesome they make you feel at home and are quick! There is no shuffle board game so who knows where that other person went. The average age is not 40 not even upper 30's it is a upper 20's bar. If you want to have fun and meet different people in a lively atmosphere than that is where you want to go!

Been here a few times and have found it to be very average. G&W is a neighborhood bar that only neighborhood folks go to because it's close by (of course) and easy. Easy to get a seat, easy to get a drink, easy to go out for a smoke and get back inside quickly. Drinks are cheap, they have a tv or two, an arcade game or two, a pool table, shuffleboard and the prerequisite coinoperated touchscreen game. It's not hard to park and there are lots of places to eat just up the street. I see lots of folks in their 40's here and a smattering of 30 year olds and late 20's folks too. George and Walt's doesn't make it on my list of best places to go but like i said, it's easy.
Pros: Parking, Drink prices, Nothing terrible
Cons: Nothing great
