While we still have a few months to go until we get "our" summer, May offers its share of warm, dry days to tide city denizens over before the fogginess of June and July sets in. Whether you're out enjoying the sun or indoors hiding from the rain, these eight activities should keep you busy.

May 7: Cinco de Mayo is on a Thursday this year, so the Mission's annual celebration will be held two days later, on Saturday. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the live music, browse arts and crafts, or take kids to a special play area.
May 14-22: The San Francisco Unified School District's annual event at the de Young features artwork and performances from K-12 students. Most SF residents don't live in neighborhoods with many school-age kids, so this is a great way to get your cuteness fix and support the struggling school system.
May 15: Sure, there's an actual race being run, but most of the hoopla at Bay to Breakers revolves around the parade of costumed craziness that trails the athletes across the city. Be sure to conceal your booze well, as further crackdowns are threatened this year.
May 19-22: The annual artMRKT brings some of the leading lights of the international art world to SF. Artists travel from London, New York, and other hotspots to display work in SF; many are appearing here for the first time.
May 21: The annual Asian Heritage Street Festival brings a mixture of culture, food, and music to the Asian Art Museum and the surrounding Little Saigon neighborhood. It's one of the country's largest pan-Asian cultural events.
May 21: The Uncorked wine festival allows city-dwellers to sample the best of the Bay Area's wineries, from Napa and Sonoma to the East Bay and even points south.
May 28: He's responsible for what's arguably the single most iconic song about San Francisco, so it's safe to expect that Tony Bennett will sing about leaving his heart behind when he appears as part of the SFJAZZ concert series. Expect plenty of jazz-age standards and a big dose of charm.
