San Francisco Spots Supporting Haiti

On January 20, 100 percent of the donations taken at the door will go to Margaret Trost's What If? Foundation, which has been working with causes in Haiti for a decade. In addition, $2 from select by-the-glass wines and bottled beers will be donated.

On Thursday, January 21, roll by MSF for a combination of modern and traditional Salvadoran recipes from Cindy Mojica of Bart Tartine and Gloria Mojica, a native of Sonsonate, El Salvador, who is coming up from LA to assist. The chefs will donate a portion of their profits to the "other MSF": Medecins Sans Frontieres, who is currently providing medical aid in Port Au Prince. All of MSF's profits will go to the organization's Haiti efforts, as well.

On Tuesday, January 26, this beautiful downtown steakhouse (and its sister restaurants, Toast Mill Valley and Toast Novato) will donate 10 percent of its proceeds to Doctors Without Borders.

Now through Friday, January 22, the Giants will be auctioning MLB experiences, such as private batting practice with Pablo Sandoval, a meeting with Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum and the chance to take 10 pitches from one of the team's starting pitchers--along with other perks like a batch of Field Club tickets and autographed merchandise. Place your bid on the Giants' website; 100 percent of proceeds will benefit UNICEF's Haiti efforts.

Nothing's sweeter than helping others: Now through January 23, all proceeds from dessert sales at this Mint Plaza restaurant will go to Doctors Without Borders.

On Saturday, January 23, stop by Mission favorite Bi-Rite between 10am and 2pm for a bake sale benefiting Partners in Health, which is (and has for the past 20 years been) providing medical aid to the people of Haiti.
